The death of a fan…

Do you have a fan?

rip fan

A sad thing happened recently. A fan met her demise. A ardent fan she was, really. She was not very tall, only roughly 160 cm in height, but she always stood proudly.

Malaysia team laser-ing in on the Suzuki Cup

AFF Suzuki Cup 2010
It’s now the beginning of the second half already, press time. The score now? 0-1. Woohoo. Just moments ago, shouts and horn blows erupted from some distant neighbors. Our striker, Safee just delivered a massive shot and scored. From looks of it, Malaysia’s very near future is looking bright.

The Indonesian team is looking confident and strong in their home ground. Bombardment after bombardment was thrown at the Malaysian’s defense, but none had touch the net.

At the start of the match, I wanted to see if there are any infamous laser action going on, and boy did I see one. Once, the Indonesian team was attacking, and bold and big flashes of green botches flashed all over the Malaysian’s goal keeper’s face.

1 Malaysia “Koperasi” Run 2010

DSC01739
The (quite awful) T-shirt design

It was last Sunday, 19th of December 2010, when Thaya and I took part in the 1 Malaysia “Koperasi” Run. This was the first time we ran 7 km, 2 km more than our previous run. Wow, in retrospect, I can’t believe I could actually run that far. It was a great feeling of accomplishment.

Last time around, the 1 Malaysia Run which was 5 km long took us 38 minutes to complete. And I was told by my mom that I was pathetically slow. Thank you mom.

This time, due to the additional 2 km, I had roughly estimated my time to be approximately 1 hour. But guess what, my friend and I did way better than we expected.

We clocked in at 42 minutes. 42 minutes to finish a 7 km run! That’s averagely 1 km every 6 minutes. Not bad at all. *nose held high*. I guess those walking breaks really did work.

Have you come across a juice called rusty juice or “Jus Karat”? Well I have, in a menu that is. Spotted at an undisclosed mamak stall in Shah Alam. Let me give you a hint, the name of the mamak stall starts with “I”.

People Studying

Some of you…
SmileOpen-mouthed smileWinking smileSurprised smileSmile with tongue outAngry smileDevilVampire batDon't tell anyone smileSleepy smileJust kidding

For the past couple of weeks, I have been doing it for more than half of my days. It’s really amusing to see how people react and respond to something. I have been to shopping malls, streets, colleges, etc. There’s always a certain pattern of responding or reacting, which are done by people unintentionally as much as intentionally.

Being a promoter allows me to do this. Everyday is a new study case for me. Truly, it is a lot of fun to sell something to the public; it grants me a license to talk to anybody and everybody. Somehow, meeting new people everyday is also a thing quite nice, and often times motivating, to me.

Fret not. I’m not those kind of credit card sellers who cling on to passersby like how stubborn stains cling on to shirts, at the same time hurling out almost inexplicably fast paced mumbling that can only rival that of the chipmunk (the cartoony type). No offence credit card sellers. I’m actually pointing out your good points.

I would try to gain your attention, and if I see a beacon of hope, I will try to go in for the kill, err sell. But, if I see the slightest negation from your body language or response, I would gladly and willingly let go.

Throughout the weeks, I’ve seen and heard many reactions to my approaching people.

Let’s see some responses given by strangers to me. Most of them apply to people passing or walking by. The following categories can apply to all of you as I’m sure you’ve been approached by people like me before. See which category you fall into.

1 Malaysia Run 2010 at Dataran Merdeka

Run baby run! My second run.
1malaysia runPeople wearing white t-shirts with the word “Maybank” adorning the fronts were ubiquitous at Masjid Jamek LRT Station. They were all heading to Dataran Merdeka. Then I realized that Merdeka Square was actually nearer to Masjid Jamek than Pasar Seni LRT! My earlier about the run was a bit misleading.

Realizing my misjudgment, I quickly phoned my friend to tell him to stop at Masjid Jamek instead of Pasar Seni. Lucky thing he was still in the LRT.

We arrived at the venue before 7:30 am, and since we didn’t register, we didn’t have the shirts, or the running numbers. So we made our way to the registration booth.

North America has 10% more of what than Africa?

Fly FM’s “Wake Up Your Brain “Contest

This is the question in Fly FM’s Pagi Show right now.

Hmm, the questions seem to get tougher and tougher. Now it covers not just kids, but countries! How on earth do we listeners find an answer to such a gargantuan question? My guess is that the prize would easily snowball to the thousand mark.

To answer the question, we first have to understand what is North America and what is Africa. I’m quite sure most of you wouldn’t know much about North America. No worries, we always have , the still legal, still functional, still respected, still neutral cousin of WikiLeaks.

Did you know that there are actually 23 countries in North America? Did I hear a “wow” or maybe “wah”(malaysian style).

1 Malaysia Run

1malaysia run
Not for the first time ever, there will be a 1 Malaysia Run in Malaysia! Yes, there have been some 1 Malaysia Runs until now. Didn’t know before this? At least now you do.

1 Malaysia is a concept no longer foreign to Malaysians. It is the brainchild of our prime minister himself. The purpose of this run is of course to cultivate a healthy living and to promote racial harmony. What a good way to do these, with sports.

It will be an event hosted by YAKEB (National Athletes Welfare Foundation) on the 11th of December. The good news is, you can participate in this event no matter where you are in Malaysia because it is going to be a nationwide event. So fear not, even if you’re staying in the jungle or holidaying in the jungle, you can still play your part. Every state will be having their own 1 Malaysia Run. Hooray. What a nice concept.

I wanted more details about the event but the YAKEB website doesn’t seem to be helpful. Anyway, you can go to to check out the error. Wonder if they know that their system is faulty.

The run will be flagged off at Dataran Merdeka at 7:30 am. Guess who will do the flagging off? Datin Seri Rosmah Mansor, patron of YAKEB .

To all lazy bums out there, this is a chance to prove your bums wrong. I’m challenging myself also.

The fall of Fall

A Story

Fall stood ominously majestic, smacked in the middle of bustling Shah Alam. It was a building of 4 floors, and relatively new - just less than 2 years old. Strangely, it was quite strange that a building should be named Fall, or named after the word “fall”. After all, this four letter word sounds a tat negative, if not pessimistic. Could it be that it was built to signify that all things would eventually “fall” and break down, or was it built for a more sinister purpose?
If you looked around the building, the question would be self-answered. Neighboring the arcane Fall are Spring, Summer and Winter. Together, they form CETNI, a company that had recently spread its wings to Malaysia.
Inside Fall, SNAIPTCA was flying around, adapting to her new surroundings. Having past 3 stages of egg, larva(the toughest phase), and pupa(the most relaxing phase), she matured into a full fledged blood-sucking machine.
Like her other innumerable siblings, LEVELA and TAMSUA, just to name a couple, SNAIPTCA had a predilection towards blood. Heck, she cannot live without it! And the only source from which she could satiate her 2 in 1 package of hunger and thirst would be those two legged aliens in Fall.

ChillsXtra

ChillsXtra is a page of miscellaneous things. Things that are extra. Many a time, we would find something extra in life. These little extra things could be insignificant, but still they are a part of us. Treasure them, no matter how small they are. Thus, this explains the purpose of ChillsXtra, dedicated to the small things in my life. Many things would go in there soon. For now, there is the custom cursor – black ship.

Tired of seeing the same old white cursor on your screen? Perhaps is a time for change…XD

Go to to have a look yourself.

Lucky and unlucky

Unlucky can be lucky, and vice versa

You might say,
“Today is my lucky day, I found 1 ringgit note by the road.”
In contrast, you might also say,
“Today is my unlucky day, I tripped and fell on a dog poo.”
The difference between lucky and unlucky, what is it?

A curios incident

The queue at the escalator

A line was building up before the escalator,

A machine that wasn’t moving as it should,

A figure was at the front of the line of the crowd,

A leader of the bewildered crowd, albeit a slow one.

Tic-Tac-Toe

A game of crosses and circles

It’s everybody’s favorite childhood game. Tic-Tac-Toe. It even has a tacky tone that sticks to your tongue. The in and outs of this game will be understood by one when one reaches a certain age. Hopefully you’re in the know about the intricacies of this game too; if not, then I really don’t know what to say of you.

Worthy book, so worthwhile.

Have you heard, there’s a new book in town,
great deals and great discounts, a waste for you to not own,
A book no less, but more on vouchers and coupons,
A melting pot of major brands for you to stumble upon.
