The Tale of a Pussy

This is a video about a kitten and it’s tail. Spotted in a Mamak stall in Shah Alam. No worries, no x-rated scenes involved.
The Tale of the Pussy
See, like I said, this is just a normal video showing a kitten fascinated by it’s own tail. It may mean nothing much to the kitten, but this can actually epitomize a particular stage of development in our lives.

When was the last time you chase your own tail? You probably didn’t cause you didn’t have one to chase. But say if we humans have a tail, there will come a day when we would suddenly discover this weird extension of the body although it had been there since our birth.

The chasing. It’s very symbolic and meaningful a thing. It represents a period of self discovery, a period of curiosity. This could be clearly seen in the video. Curiosity kills the cat, they would often say. But what they didn’t say was how curiosity leads to greater empowerment of all sorts.

In our lives, there are many stages of development. One of them would be the chasing – the discovery part. Many things in life we take for granted, though these entities had been a part of us; sometimes these entities are our latent talents, sometimes we’re bound to them by blood. Things like a tail had been a part of us for a long time, and there would come a time when we will notice it.

Wealth, love, peace, chivalry. It could be these and many more, you name it. This tail is something that you may not have notice, and may not be noticing until who knows when. But it’s definitely in all of us. It’s a question of when, and not why or how, that the chasing will happen.

The chasing may need some stimulant. A knock on the head perhaps, or the view in the mirror. It’s a stage that a person has to go through individually, usually without choice. Nobody can tell you that you have a tail. But someday, somehow, your tail would appear to you. So be prepared to do the chasing.

Now don’t swing your head backwards to check if you have a tail. We don’t have to do that. We don’t have to find our tail purposefully, but knowing it’s there could help us face it when the time is ripe. Consider your knowing about you as a human being and your role in this world. That’s an example of discovering your tail.

Another example would be the confession of God the almighty, the omnipresent, and acknowledging that besides giving in your faith in Him. That is the holiest of the tail, and that’s God giving you your tail.

These chasings can happen more than one time. And every time it occurs, enlightenment ensues. In other words, it is significantly a phase of maturity and development of the soul as well. It could be the realization about something profound that starts to make deep sense to you out of the sudden, when before that you had no inkling about that particular something.

Hope that you’ll experience a chasing soon, and if you do, have a good one. I haven’t had one for a long time. Watching this video just reminds me of my chasing when I was small, and I hope it evoke something in you too.

Till then, I’m going to come up with something really mind blogging in my next post. Cant’ wait to see the reactions on your faces…wait I can’t actually “see” your faces.

Laugh at the video, and someday you’ll see yourself doing the same thing.

p,s. The title for this post was intentionally done in that way. Truly, it carries a double meaning. But for what you think it was, it really exposes what you predominant thought about what those words could mean. Some people would see it as it is while others would see it with a different light. That’s how our mindsets could be influenced by the choice of words, and it shows how social upbringing have affected us.
